Looking into Cipe

Cipe Pineles was a design innovator working from the 1930s to 1990s, in New York City.  Pineles had many firsts in design attributed to her name. In addition, she has been very influential to not only graphic designers, but especially to working women. Her success as a designer was not imminent without tribulation. Pineles had to work hard to push through the barriers stopping others from seeing her and many other women’s potentials, and it took too long for her work to be properly noticed.

Completed during the 2020 global pandemic, the purpose of the design was to inform the viewer of Cipe Pineles and her work. Cipe was a working woman in New York City, so the addition of iconic New York architecture accent Cipe’s artwork. In addition, Pineles was a major influence to women and women’s fashion. In each section, the inclusion of famous fashion models from the periods she was working through, now were included to give the viewer a reference of some of her influence.
